This project came into fruition by combining my deep rooted love of travel and journaling. This past year, I was fortunate enough to be able to travel to many new places. Like many, I was heavily captivated by everything so I took way too many photos to remember the adventures. A problem I ran into after coming home (other than all the photos and videos taking up an immense amount of storage space on my phone) was what to use them for. A devoted hobby of mine is journaling. I used my accumulated photos to scrapbook, journal, and write entries about reflecting on my journey. Because of the amount of photos and videos taken, I could never fit all of them in a spread. I wanted my photos and videos to come alive on the page, to immerse myself in the places I had gone to. I wanted to save my memories into something akin to a time capsule, that I can personally use or to share with others.
Therefore, the idea of PostMarked was born!

*When viewing the photos and videos in augmented reality, put the stamp sticker on a horizontal surface. The augmented reality is programmed to be at 90 degrees of the image.
A simulation of how a user’s content would appear when uploaded to a stamp is shown using Adobe Aero. The program preloads the content. Once complete, the user can begin the interaction. The program detects the appearance of the chosen stamp and projects the animation on top.
