Cyber Citadel

Cyber Citadel is a custom deck of 54 poker-sized playing cards with a cyberpunk twist. Each picture card is hand-illustrated with a unique character from the Cyber Citadel, a future metropolis full of oppression, crime and protest.

Welcome to the Cyber Citadel, a dystopian city full of crime and oppression. There are four factions that make up the people of the citadel: the rich, the law enforcement, the rebels and the mechanics. In this world, there is constant battle between the oppressors and the oppressed. The characters, what they wear, and their stories give a small taste of what it is like to live in this future. The world has been distilled into a 54-card deck of playing cards with a custom typeface, tuckbox and hand-drawn illustrations to allow players to immerse themselves in this alternate reality.

TYPEFACE

To tie the cards together, a custom typeface was designed to fit the futuristic aesthetic. Each glyph, whilst stylistically angular in design, fits within a square frame. This allows the font to be organised into a satisfying grid pattern, which is especially useful for the the vertical stacking on the corner of each card. The custom font file allowed for quick production of the cards, ensured that everything on the card was fully bespoke and made the entire deck feel more consistent.

TUCK BOX

The tuck box design showcases a slice of the urban environment that makes up the citadel. The illustration wraps around the tuckbox, giving it a striking appearance.
